March 7, 1992 - May 8, 2000
Luc
came to us in the Spring of 1997, having earned his CFA championship during
a Sacred Cat of Burma Fanciers show, at the ripe "old" age of
almost 3 1/2 years . Soon after his arrival, he went on to win an ACFA
title, taking a Breed win in four of six rings, with three finals at the
age of five.
In
the summer, Carraig's Tosca presented us with the first of his beautiful
offspring, including SupremeCh.Carraig Kandaha Unteag, Best Best Bluepoint
Birman, 1998-99, South Africa. (see Show Results) In three
breedings, with 13 kittens, 10 of their offspring were show-marked. Others
who have gone on to distinguished show careers, are Ch. Carraig's Vagnerian
Phat Lady (bluepoint female), ACFA Best Allbreed Kitten in Eastern Canada
1998-99, and 12th Best Allbreed Cat, 1999-2000. Also, his last offspring
for us, Carraig's Winter
Wonderland, (sealpoint female), 5th Best Allbreed Kitten, ACFA E.C. Region
1999-2000. Luc consistently sired Birmans that met the highest of breed
standards.
Luc
was a seasoned traveller, having been born in Arizona, lived in Colorado
and Ohio, and then in New Brunswick, Canada. He was our family "schmooz",
a more loving, affectionate cat would be hard to find. Even judges have
been known to stand there and cuddle him, while Mr. Q-Tip tried to stuff
his head in their ears. Veterinarians have been known to throw up their
hands during annual examinations when he purred non-stop into their stethoscopes.
Luc adored everyone, especially the "ladies", and his courting
techniques are always those of a gentleman. If Luc were human, he would
have been pictured on the cover of a romance novel, with flowing locks
and a shirt open to his navel.
Luc was funny, loving, and a riot to live with, but he left us, at the age of eight, to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss him..now and always.
